Work Arrangement
HYBRID: Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite an average of three (3) days each week.
The Role
In this role, you’ll be part of the Global Propulsion Systems Manufacturing Engineering (GPS-ME) Business Investment team. As the financial owner of several GPS-ME capital projects, you’ll work with engineering project owners to maintain the financial forecast with a high attention to detail and accuracy. You’ll track project investment timing and performance vs allocated budget, using data to explain forecast variances and create financial presentations for business leadership. Your responsibilities will also include solving problems and improving processes to streamline decision-making.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
- Analyze monthly & quarterly financial results
- Support monthly consolidation, annual budget & long term planning processes
- Identify bottom line improvement opportunities
- Complete key reports to support monthly consolidation
- Solve problems and develop new methods of analysis to streamline decision-making
- Analyze trends in forecast and variances
- Provides accurate, timely and reliable reporting
- Complete ad-hoc sensitivities as required
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 1-3 years of experience in a financial role
- Strong Excel skills
- A Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in business administration or finance
What Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)
- Financial experience with an automotive supplier or OEM
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated/proactively resolve issues and move project tasks forward
- Teamwork/leadership skills – ability to work with people within and outside group
- Knowledge of GM financial processes, SAP and Hyperion
