About the Role:

The Data and Reporting Analyst will join EOED's Finance & Compliance Team to support the collection of data required for timely submission of federal financial and project performance reports. This position will also assist EOED staff in successfully carrying out subgrantee monitoring functions in accordance with established federal regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities: (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):

  • Coordinate with EOED staff on establishing a federal reporting framework and calendar to ensure that all reports for federal grants are submitted in a timely fashion.
  • Liaise with subgrantees to develop a cadence for submission of information to EOED to meet reporting timelines.
  • Assist compliance staff in carrying out subrecipient monitoring by reviewing project performance Data and reports for accuracy.
  • Assist Finance Director in gathering required financial Data and reimbursement documentation from subrecipients to file federal reports.  
  • Specialize in the navigation of federal reporting portals, preparing and uploading Data and other documentation required for successful and timely report submission.
  • General data management including but not limited to, organizing, cleaning, storing, and synthesizing federal grant files.
  • Advise on best practices for data structure and analysis to communicate key messages effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis such as data integrity, analysis, validation, and documentation.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1 years of experience in public policy, business analytics, quantitative analysis (relevant work, internship or co-op).
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in public policy, public administration, data/information design, information systems, analytics, or related field.
  • Excellent analytical skills and experience in research, including gathering, interpreting, and summarizing data.
  • Ability to draw insights from Data and clearly communicate them (verbal/written/visualized) to the stakeholders and senior management.
  • Eective organizational, analytical, multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Interest in public service as demonstrated through education, work, or volunteer activities.
  • Ability to learn quickly, take direction, and work independently and to use creative, collaborative, and consultative approaches to resolve issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience managing the reporting functions of simultaneous state and/or federal grants.
  • Project management experience.
  • Interest or background in public finance/policy.
  • Master's or other post-graduate degree in related area.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in financial management work (i.e. budgeting, accounting, auditing, management analysis, program evaluation, financial reporting of program results) or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below

 

Substitutions:

 

I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

 

II. An Associate's degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.

 

III. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.

 

IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.

 

V. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
