Our Customer Support Technicians receive requests for IT assistance from across the country via telephone, email, IM's and chat room notifications. They are responsible for diagnosing and resolving IT problems related to hardware, applications and operating systems. They ensure that service calls from customers are resolved accurately and in a timely fashion with emphasis on superior customer satisfaction. They install and train customers on proprietary car-part services and third-party applications and call customers to upgrade and reconfigure their services. Among other duties, they also perform Help Desk reporting, monitor and resolve Help Desk exceptions, and track and update all trouble tickets with our Product Development staff. They also provide support of peripherals including, but not limited to printers, print servers, modems, DVD and tape drives. Provides support for for third-party software including, but not limited to, ProComm, Alphacom, Powerterm and a variety of anti-spyware and anti-virus programs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

  • Auto-recycling industry/salvage yard knowledge
  • Some PC and networking troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Some experience with hardware and software issues on most Microsoft Operating Systems, XP, Vista, etc.
  • Some experience with MS Office, including Outlook Express and Outlook
  • Self motivated, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Must be proactive and have excellent follow up skills with the ability to prioritize and possess the ability to work autonomously
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience required with customers not familiar with PCs
  • High-speed internet (cable or telephone)

Non-Essential but Valued Skills and Experience:

  • Spanish speaking
  • Customer service experience
  • Some experience with serial communication networks
  • Some experience with terminals, modem and printers
  • Experience in a Technical Support Call Center
  • Knowledge of Salvage yard operations
  • General automotive knowledge
  • A+ certified
  • MSCE certified
