Pay Rate: $20.00 HR
Hours: Monday – Friday || 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (w/1 Hour Lunch)
Our client out of North Austin is a nationwide wholesaler of Metals. They are looking for a Customer Service / Counter Clerk to join their team. You’ll spend the day on your feet, moving between our Customer Service counter, the office, and the shop floor. The ideal candidate will be able to provide clerical and administrative support by creating memorable experiences and building customer loyalty, as well as upsellingas needed to grow and nurture their portfolio.
This candidate must have exceptional communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Billing,/ Accounting, and have consistent work history with experience in a similar position. This position is specific to the Metals sales field of industry which includes but is not limited to aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, pipe sheets, and tubing. The ideal candidate would be someone with proven experience in the industry who possesses advanced Customer Service skills with consistent experience.
Experience as an Account Manager, Counter Sales Representative, or Customer Service Representative are an ideal fit for this role. (Metal Industry, preferred)
We’ll train you in operating our machines and working with different metals. If you’re customer focused, passionate about service and customer satisfaction, have a positive attitude, solutions driven and motivated to learn, we can teach you the rest.
Duties:
Present, promote, and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
Become familiar with all company products, policies, and procedures.
Be prepared to work in other departments, as required from a logistics standpoint.
Monitor stock and inventory
Acknowledge and respond in a timely fashion to all order requests, submitted quotes and delivery follow-up
Performs Customer Service activities including receiving and entering of telephone orders, answering questions, and resolving customer complaints
Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
Continuously improve through constructive feedback
Do you have the following requirements/experience?
Minimum 2 - years of experience in a high volume fast-paced office environment.
Outgoing, friendly, and professional attitude
Understanding of common business practices and procedures
Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. (Sheets/ Excell)
High school diploma/GED
Qualifications:
Minimum one year of proven Customer Service experience and/or eager to learn and grow
Computer skills such as MS office, etc. a definite asset
Clear communication and effective listening skills
Exceptional telephone skills and etiquette
Fluent in written and spoken English. (Spanish is a plus)
Mathematically inclined
Previous experience in metals, building materials, and supplies ( Preferred )
