G+D is seeking a highly organized and accountable Customer Project Manager in our Government-Transit Sector, to lead the delivery of projects from initiation to deployment. The Customer Project Manager will serve as the primary interface with clients in the Government and Transit sectors, ensuring projects are on-time, on-budget, and meet defined objectives. Your excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills will be central to your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and lead Customer Projects with a typical life cycle of 6-12 months, ensuring they are delivered on-time, on-budget, and in a cost-effective manner.
- Define project scope and objectives, involving all stakeholders to ensure project feasibility.
- Develop and maintain all project documentation using MS-Project, including implementation plans, resource planning, and risk assessment.
- Oversee project communication plans, delivering regular status reports and convening Executive Steering meetings.
- Utilize transparent communications to resolve issues, manage risks, and remove obstacles throughout the project life cycle.
- Implement industry best practices for testing, defect tracking, and performance metrics.
- Work with cross-disciplinary teams, acting as liaison during client-facing acceptance testing and project handover.
- Conduct post-project lessons learned to continually refine practices and procedures.
- Comply with company policies, standard practices, and privacy and security guidelines.
- Willing to travel up to 25% within North America, flexibility for occasional work beyond regular office hours.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably involving Government or Transit sectors.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or associate degree with 7+ years of similar experience.
- Strong business acumen, mentoring mindset, and well-developed negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with Jira and SAP ERP.
- Experience with SDLC, MS-Office Suite, including Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- PMP certification is an asset.
- Clear and professional communication skills.
