Custom Plastics Inc. is a privately held, leading plastics injection molding and profile extrusion manufacturer in business for over 65 years and growing. We are looking for a dynamic new team member for our Sales Engineering Team.
JOB TITLE: Junior Sales Engineer
PURPOSE:
To support all sales by assisting in various functions applicable to sales activities, including cost estimating, RFQ process management and general client/rep interaction.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Degreed Engineer with 2+yrs, with plastics manufacturing experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work independently as well as be an integral part of a collaborative team.
Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail Suite and other applicable engineering/design software applications such as Solidworks, Draftsite, AutoCAD, GibbsCAM. Experience in Business Information Systems; Syteline a plus.
Ability to create spreadsheets, databases, analyze and report on data by summarizing results
ISO 9001 Quality System knowledge (preferred)
Multi-tasking, project/time management, reliability, attention to detail all are essential job requirements
Must be able to read and write in English
Previous manufacturing experience/knowledge of blueprints preferred
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Request for Quote Process/Cost Estimating
- Process all incoming RFQ’s in a timely fashion
- Have capability to perform a cost estimate, transpose data from the estimate worksheet into the excel cost estimate document and/or create a formal quote and submit
- Track submitted quotes and report quote disposition
Sales Support/Project Management
- Act as internal liaison for all inquiries and requests and/or action items pertinent to sales, to internal personnel, independent reps and/or customers.
- Ensure requests for samples, literature and any other sales related material is supported accordingly.
- Project Management in requirements regarding documentation, part file creation, etc.
- Support occasional sales data requirements as requested (sales data comparisons, etc.)
General
- Maintain QMS requirements as applicable to job responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned
