We are actively expanding our Clinical Research Support (CRS) department to support Principal Investigators (PIs) and research study teams who are focused on mission-critical clinical trials programs. The CRS Assistant Director, Financial Management is primarily responsible for departmental Financial Management as well as pre and post award management of federal grants, industry contracts, inter-institutional subawards and purchased service agreements for a portfolio of Oncology clinical trials.
Responsibilities
+ Direct financial model and enhance operating procedures for cost-recovery for CRS central services deployed to support research teams managing Consortium clinical trials; and tightly manage the performance of this billing function.
+ Provide structure, analyses & manage all aspects of annual budget process and ongoing forecasting & reconciliation of operating budget including monitoring for, and reporting, variances to VP of Clinical Research, CRS Leadership, and Center Leadership.
+ Lead Departmental & Center-wide financial process improvement, including integration of Financial Management Systems, communicate changes to stakeholders and drive to performance outcomes
+ Serve as CRS fiscal representative to Finance, Division administration, and other stakeholders.
+ Define key performance indicators for areas of oversight and identify data sources for ongoing measurement to inform the CRS strategic plan.
+ Create dashboards to report key performance indicators and departmental budgets and produce at regularly defined intervals.
+ Direct pre-award study start-up support including budget negotiations with Sponsor for a portfolio of clinical trials directly managed by CRS
+ Define & oversee post award services including sponsor invoicing, receipt tracking & overall financial reporting for FHCC Oncology clinical trials
+ Establish feedback loop between post award Financial Management teams and pre-award budgeting and contracting teams to help ensure learnings are continually being incorporated upstream into pre-award processes
+ Direct operations of pre- and post-award management of CRS-managed federal grants & inter institutional sub awards
+ Responsible for all processes related to the internal compliance review, project budget creation, revenue activation, posting, and close-out of the Center’s clinical research agreements.
+ Manage financials relate to CRS purchased service agreements
+ Foster teamwork within the program and across the Consortium
+ Maintain a high-performance culture among CRS staff.
+ Manage a multi-disciplinary team including post award and program Financial Management skill sets
+ Supervise department/program fiscal staff to include hiring, performance evaluation, & professional development.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification or experience
+ 7 years of progressively complex experience in administration of finance processes and systems; including 5 years’ experience in research administration and 3 years of supervisory experience.
+ Demonstrated track record of enhancing Financial Management processes
+ Highly organized and detail oriented
+ Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines effectively
+ Strong administrative expertise, including project planning, leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills, demonstrated through experience.
+ Experience working effectively across large organizations
+ Experience creating and managing processes and SOPs and implementing process improvement initiatives
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Proficient in MS Office Suite
+ Adept at identifying key stakeholders and discerning when to engage for efficient problem solving
+ Demonstrated collaboration, project management, and problem-solving skills including the ability to influence without authority
+ Proficient in using enterprise-wide database systems such as PeopleSoft (Oracle), CTMS and RedCap
+ Experience working in SharePoint, Visio & Data Visualization tools (e.g., Excel or Tableau)

The annual base salary range for this position is from $111,748 to $176,634 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.??This position may be eligible for sign on bonus or relocation assistance.
