Job Title: Crisis Counselor

A local San Francisco Non-Profit Healthcare organization providing mental health care, social services, and academic support for children and youth is seeking an Crisis Counselor.

Direct hire, permanent position accepting candidates immediately for next week's interviews.

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours) Sunday 8a-10pm, Monday 1-10:30pm, Tuesday 2-10:30pm, and Wednesday 2-10:30pm)

Salary: Hourly rate of $22.03 to $28.64

Position Summary:

• Provides direct client services and care coordination for youth and families.
• Works in the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) to address mental health needs of children and youth ages 6-17 experiencing psychiatric crises.

Position Description:

• Responsible for assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized treatment and care plans.
• Provides case management, mentoring, and coaching to clients.
• Develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships.
• Generates reports verbally and in writing.
• Maintains the physical environment.
• Adheres to agency protocols and meets program documentation standards.

Counselor Levels:

• Counselor 1:
• Partners with the treatment team.
• Seeks support and guidance from senior counselors.
• Counselor 2:
• Implements program structure.
• Leads, facilitates, and manages small groups.

Applied Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to physically hold and/or restrain children.
• Valid California Driver’s License or able to obtain one.
• Strong communication skills.
• Written proficiency.
• Work experience in a child-centered agency preferred.
• Ability to work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team approach.
• Ability to think independently and make informed decisions when needed.
