Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Director, ESG Performance & Reporting, the Senior Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) strategy. They will play a key support role across the ESG reporting spectrum, including (but not limited to) preparation of annual ESG Reports, measurement of KPIs and metrics related to ESG initiatives, and submission of data to third-party ratings and rankings agencies. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our mission and help BMS continuously improve our performance in ESG factors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the master schedule of disclosures to ESG ratings and rankings agencies. Track internal data requests and ensure adherence to deadlines.

  • Prepare customized ESG datasets and streamlined communications for consumption by BMS stakeholders.

  • Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement, simplification, and efficiency.

  • In collaboration with ESG team leadership and BMS stakeholders, support the collection and organization of data in preparation for the annual ESG Report.

  • Gather and maintain a comprehensive database of ESG data points being disclosed and reported by BMS peer companies and other competitors.

  • Support the design and maintaining of reports and dashboards of BMS performance within the ESG ratings universe. Monitor competitive landscape for opportunities to enhance BMS ESG reporting and disclosures.

  • Administrator for the centralized internal ESG data system, keeping all key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics up-to-date in the system in alignment with ESG data governance.

  • Drive desired outcomes by coordinating and working effectively across the ESG team and with external stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in management consulting, project management, or business insights and analytics, or a combination of education and professional experience that would provide an equivalent career foundation.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Experience in the life sciences or biopharmaceutical industries a plus.

  • Ability to be adept in advancing and new technology, applications; and skills in basic operational software such as Excel, Word, SharePoint, project management tools.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with data, analytics, and IT systems preferred but not required.

  • Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to ‘switch gears’ quickly and competently in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to drive results and deliver to established timelines.

  • Detail-oriented, exceptional organization skills, curiosity about the role of ESG both within and outside of BMS.
