Your Mission
We are looking for a Payroll Lead to join our fast-growing People Team. Reporting to our HR Operations Director, you will be supporting both the People Team and Finance move from its current location specific payroll setup to a regional/global provider and model. On successful completion of the project, you will be responsible for the EMEA/APAC payroll team and its delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in both global payroll transformation and managing high-standard delivery of regional teams.
As our regional Payroll Lead at Nuvei, you will have the opportunity to build best-in-class payroll processes. You will have overall accountability of our regional payroll processes and operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Take a lead role within the inflight project to transform our global payroll structure
- Drive the discovery of current ways of working, identifying and documenting resource, effort and process utilized
- Support the change of current end-to-end payroll processes (including controls and audit requirements) to those required as we move from current location specific setup to a global/regional provider(s)
- Build positive relationships with various stakeholders such as global payroll teams and Finance
- Drive continuous improvement efforts for regional/global payroll best practices that enhance payroll processes, increase efficiency, compliance, scalability and automation
- Manage regional teams and enable accurate delivery of payrolls for all our employees, acting as point of escalation
- Manage and build relationship with external vendor(s)
- Ensures the successful onboarding of new companies onto Nuvei's payroll platforms and processes as the company carries out M&A
- Creates an excellent employee experience through the development of self-service resources, proactive communications and by managing payroll and equity-related inquiries
- Anticipates, develops, and improves internal audit capabilities to ensure all compliance requirements are met
- Assists with providing requests for the year-end audit
- Works with HR and Rewards to ensure the timely and accurate processing of compensation and benefit transactions
- Partners with Accounting and Finance on payroll related reporting and reconciliations
- Support ad-hoc projects, where required
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years of global/regional payroll experience, ideally with transformation experience within an organization that had frequent M&A activity
- Demonstrable experience delivering significant transformation in complex global organizations
- Experience of payrolls within the countries we operate is advantageous
- Project management experience is advantageous
- Strong ability to collaborate, see the big picture yet drill into the detail, where needed
