Job Description
Credit Solutions Specialist Job Summary:
Incumbent is responsible for repossession processing and bankruptcy processing for the Credit Union. They will also be responsible for some collection telephone calls. They may become responsible for credit report dispute processing, as well as managing some total loss accident insurance claims.
Credit Solutions Specialist Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable three (3) year driving record preferred. Experience in bankruptcy and repossession processing is preferred, but not required. We will fully train the selected candidate.
Essential Elements of the Job:
1. Maintain a positive and professional image of self and the Credit Union.
2. Provide accurate, timely, and courteous service to our members by providing efficient assistance in answering questions and providing professional services.
3. Ability to work in an environment with high phone call volumes and sometimes stressful situations.
4. Assist the department in achieving set goals and maintain adequate repossession and bankruptcy processing times and deadlines.
5. Assist department in preventing or reducing loss due to loan default.
6. Process member loan payments by telephone or in person.
7. Accept training on bankruptcy and repossession process and continue to grow in that knowledge.
8. Ability to utilize the computer to process bankruptcy and repossession documents, including reviewing loans and accepting loan payments from members.
9. Demonstrate improved knowledge of use of open-ended questions during collection calls.
10. Communicate with delinquent members and document the nature of the problem and attempt to solve the issue.
11. Maintain confidentially and adhere to all security measures and policies and procedures of the Credit Union.
Job Skills and Work Relations:
Incumbent must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette skills, critical thinking skills, written and verbal communication skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Incumbent must possess team-player skills, be innovative, independent thinker and display tact and professionalism in collaborating closely with co-workers, members, and partners of MidWest America Federal Credit Union.
Incumbent reports directly to the VP of Credit Solutions.
The job classification for this position is Grade 8.
