Job description

SPE INTERN:
Our Emerging Talent Programs, which includes Interns, Trainees, and Finance Rotational Associates, offer unique opportunities for students, recent graduates, and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allows you to build on your experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, and many educational and social networking opportunities.
This Summer Internship is from May/June through August 30th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday in the specified location. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university. A hybrid work structure may or may not be available.
Screen Gems Pictures develops and produces genre thrillers, sci-fi, action, and horror-themed theatrical motion pictures as a stand-alone unit under the auspices of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Worldwide Motion Picture Group. Since Screen Gems is a small division and has full responsibility for bringing its product to market, our interns are exposed to all aspects of "making movies" as well as what it is like to work for one of the major motion picture companies.
Screen Gems is searching for creative-minded, hard-working, and driven candidates for a development Trainee role. Over the course of the Traineeship, the intern will learn about the Screen Gems brand and the production process (i.e. Creative Development, casting).
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with scheduling, answering phones, and office assistant-type tasks
  • Reading and providing coverage for incoming submissions and project drafts
  • Research and compile lists/vision boards of potential actors, directors, and writers for upcoming films
  • Additional support with project-related research for films in Creative Development

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Passion and focus on filmed entertainment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Web/tech-savvy to monitor and evaluate trending topics, and ideas on social media
  • Good eye for creative materials and topics in the zeitgeist, which will aid executives in brainstorming for projects

The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
Sony Pictures Entertainment is an equal opportunity employer. We evaluate qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other protected characteristics.
To request an accommodation for purposes of participating in the hiring process, you may contact us at SPE_Accommodation_Assistance@spe.sony.com.
