Disney Entertainment – Studios is looking for a Counsel role Attorney to support the marketing and promotion of Disney’s motion pictures, series, and other content. This position reports to a Principal Counsel of Studio Legal Affairs for Marketing and is responsible for the legal analysis, drafting, and negotiating of deals related to the global marketing, publicity, and advertising of content in theaters, released on streaming platforms such as Disney+ and Hulu, and home entertainment products, as well as providing legal support to the Events team for the production of red carpet premieres and internal and external events to promote Disney content.
Job Responsibilities
Drafts, negotiates, reviews, analyzes, and manages contracts related to the marketing, advertising, and publicity of theatrical, streaming, and home entertainment content, as well as event production-related contracts including, but not limited to, service agreements, supply agreements, talent and materials releases, content licensing agreements, promotion and sponsorship agreements, venue, catering and hotel agreements, equipment rental agreements, cost sharing agreements, and sweepstakes/contest terms.
Coordinates with Walt Disney Company subject matter experts (e.g., intellectual property, privacy, music, employment, labor, risk management, finance, etc.) to address issues arising from global marketing and advertising content.
Provides solutions-oriented advice to business clients (including marketing, publicity, and events) on legal matters and contracts, and reviews marketing creative materials for social media and other promotional use.
Works independently, or with more senior members of the team, to review, assess, and provide guidance to business teams on marketing, advertising, and publicity campaigns relating to company policies, privacy, safety, intellectual property, compliance, and clearance issues.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years legal experience.
Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to work under deadlines and execute efficiently against multiple, high-priority, and high-volume projects.
Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and devise solutions and strategies with awareness to seek guidance of more senior team members as needed.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel including senior level executives.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with members within the department and personnel in other legal and business groups.
Preferred Qualifications
Entertainment industry experience with emphasis on marketing, promotion, and event-related contracts and issues.
Education
JD degree or equivalent from an accredited law school.
Admission to California State Bar in good standing or, willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $140,000 to $181,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
