The company also established its in-house unscripted studio FOX Alternative Entertainment (The Masked Singer, Snake Oil, I Can See Your Voice, Name That Tune), FOX Entertainment Studios (Animal Control) to develop scripted content, and worldwide content sales unit FOX Entertainment Global.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Business & Legal Affairs department is seeking an entertainment attorney to provide business and legal support in connection with Fox's unscripted programming development and production as well as some scripted programming (including live-action and animated). Actual title will be based on the experience of the candidate.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze, negotiate, and draft a variety of development and production-related agreements including above-the-line talent deals, below-the-line production agreements, vendor agreements, format licenses, and production services and license agreements
  • Analyze contracts in response to business questions and provide contractual and research information to business executives and senior attorneys to assist with business decisions
  • Review production-related documents for unscripted programming including contestant/participant agreements, casting flyers, and websites
  • Review contestant/participant diligence reports
  • Liaise with production personnel and in-house executives regarding legal and business issues that relate to network needs and arise in connection with day-to-day production
  • Work with production legal and provide advice for programming produced in-house and by third parties
  • Create and maintain departmental resources and actively participate in the establishment of departmental policies and procedures for unscripted programming including helping shape strategies and adapt templates

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Active member of California bar or Registered In-House Counsel status, with 2-4 years prior legal experience, preferably at a television network, studio, production company, or entertainment law firm
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate respectfully and function independently, perform moderate to advanced-level reasoning tasks, and make common sense decisions
  • Ability to work in an environment with a high degree of confidentiality
  • Advanced proficiency with Word and Excel
  • Be able to respond to and interact with senior-level creative and business executives in a professional, articulate, personable, and helpful manner
  • Very organized and able to manage and effectively prioritize multiple projects under time-sensitive conditions

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $106,000.00-120,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
