Summary of the Position:

Under general supervision, will perform professional accounting work according to generally accepted Accounting
principles. The Cost Accountant will support the Controller in cost accounting, financial reporting, general ledger,
and inventory, working within an accounting team in multi-locations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Developing and implementing cost standards for materials, labor and overhead.
• Designing and implementing cost accounting systems and reports.
• Analyzing production costs and recommending changes.
• Overseeing annual physical inventory.
• Analyzing manufacturing operations, equipment availability and utilization.
• Performing month-end close.
• Maintaining cost accounting system.
• Analyzing inventory valuations.
• Monitoring unit/department cost variance.
• Preparing cost of goods sold and production reports.
• Preparing all inventory related journal entries at month end.
• Developing depreciation schedules.
• Prepare actual vs. plan (budget) analysis. Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs,
inventory, and expense information.
• Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures.
• Develop and maintain standard costs of finished goods and production components in ERP system.
• Maintain and improve processes and controls associated with manufacturing costs and inventory valuation.
• Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control,
production, and work order processing.
• Work with Managers to improve operations, reduce costs, etc.
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
• Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation,
enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Maintain respectful relationship with vendors and co-workers
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge with continuing education and attending personal development
workshops.
• Follows and supports quality, environmental, health and safety requirements pertinent the job

Required Technical Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Three (3) years of Cost Accounting experience in tool manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with an ERP system; Microsoft AX preferred; A/S400 experience a plus
