Troy Design and Manufacturing is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Under general direction of the Program Planning Manager, is responsible for development of all cost models of the programs.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for creating BOMs, Cost Models, and Quote packages from information gathered from the program documentation and program team
- Responsible for soliciting RFQs and sourcing of all prototype work to Tier two suppliers
- Creates and adjusts early program cost and capacity projections based on customer actual milestones.
- Develops customer relationships and works to integrate TDM into the vehicle team.
- Conducts review and/or composition of timeline, engineering data, deliverables prior to Program Management hand-off
- Participates in Engineering Change activity in support of program
- Attends customer directed meetings when required.
- Support PROGRAM NEEDS Platform Managers
- Assist in creating and maintaining a historical database for common commodities
- Develop new methods and refine TDM Cost Models to more accurately cost commodities and tools and ensure consistency across program platforms
- Create and maintain a matrix listing requested improvements to macros created for PM/Costing/M1/PCD. Create and implement macros based on priority set by management
- Point person for rolling out new software and processes for cost control/tracking
- Performs other duties and required or requested
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM REQUIRED:
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience 6+ years in a manufacturing process environment
- Ability to work with multiple excel documents for cross-reference and lookups
- Excellent written and verbal communication ability
- Teamcenter/CAD experience
- EBOM MBOM experience
- Resource planning experience
- Advanced cost estimating and budget planning knowledge
- Ability to work with others
- Ability to handle and work with changing direction
PREFERRED:
- Automotive related process experience
- Previous skilled trade supervision a plus
- Presentation skills
