Group Summary

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. About the Role

Responsible for the administration of Cost Analyst activities including sales, piece price, launch, and engineering cost tracking for outside mirrors, door handles, overhead consules, actuators, power folds, grille shutters, and power charging flaps. Supports customer service teams in various planning, reporting, and analytical capacities.

Your Responsibilities

  • Has primary responsibility for development and maintenance of sales quotation financial model. Maintains records and files to serve as history for all quotations.
  • Analyzes and validates results of financial model based on inputs received for reasonableness and obtains revised assumptions from the organization as needed.
  • Works with manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, and sales to secure the necessary information for proper quotations and ensure quoted bill of material, design & engineering, tooling and capital costs are accurate and in compliance with customer requirements.
  • Monitors program financial performance from award to launch, and assists sales directors and program managers in detecting variances and initiating corrective action plans. Ensures that accurate quoted sales price breakdown information is developed and entered in customer database systems as required.
  • Participate in and provide analysis for sales quotation approval meetings with Senior Management in support of customer quote approval process.In cooperation with divisional finance staff, responsible for development of annual burden rates in support of the financial quote model. 
  • Assists other departments on matters pertaining to the development of cost estimates to assure consideration of all pertinent facts.

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field (e.g., accounting, finance, engineering), plus a minimum of three years’ experience in an appropriate business environment.
  • Demonstrated strong initiative in confronting and resolving problems.
  • Strong leadership and written/verbal communication skills with ability to interact with and influence all segments of the organization. Ability to clearly explain complex financial data in a manner that is easily understood by non-finance individuals.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills, and ability to organize and prioritize work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and experience preferred in the following areas:
    • Cost accounting and estimating.
    • Standard machine, labor and overhead rate development.
    • Financial ratio measurements, including time value of money.
    • Conceptual knowledge of engineering design and process disciplines.
    • Design and optimization of manufacturing processes.
    • Flow process analysis.
  • Proficient in use of computers and computer applications, with advanced skills required related to Excel.
