Our Cybersecurity Training and Awareness Department plays a pivotal role in educating our employees on cybersecurity best practices and emerging threats. This summer, we are excited to offer a college internship that provides a hands-on learning experience in the dynamic field of cyberSecurity Awareness and training.
As a Summer College Intern with our Cybersecurity Training and Awareness team, you will dive into the world of cybersecurity, gaining exposure to a wide range of Security Awareness functions. You'll have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to our mission of fostering a secure and aware culture within First Citizens Bank.
This is a remote position.
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $23.38/hr - $35.75/hr. This position is not eligible for the benefits program.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Be part of a dynamic team with interesting projects. Accountabilities can and may include areas such as research, analytics, projects, strategy, process review and improvement, as well as technology enhancements and support.
- Attend professional development sessions, informational sessions, networking and community service events.
- Have a dedicated manager and program manager to help you navigate the bank and the internship program.
- Be assigned a project, designed to improve a specific process or solve a problem that you will present at the close of the internship.
- Prepare a wrap-up presentation to be shared with the division leader and other key stakeholders in the company to outline your accomplishments and experience during the internship
**Research and Analysis:** Conduct research into various trending topics in cybersecurity, including but not limited to artificial intelligence (AI), ransomware, phishing tactics, and compliance standards.- **Cybersecurity Campaigns:** Learn how to develop and execute effective phishing campaigns, understanding the mechanics behind crafting emails, analyzing responses, and educating employees on recognizing such threats.
- **Training Development:** Assist in the creation and delivery of annual security compliance training modules, helping to design engaging content that resonates with employees across the bank.
- **Certification Tracking:** Support the ECSO team in tracking and managing professional certifications, ensuring that our team's qualifications are up-to-date and aligned with industry standards.
- **Functional Area Exposure:** Gain insights into various functional areas within cybersecurity, including risk assessment, incident response, and policy development, providing a well-rounded internship experience.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of experience
- Currently enrolled at an accredited collegiate institution (during the time of the summer program)
- Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program

- 3.0 minimum GPA
