Job Description
The Coordinator of Volunteer and In-Kind works closely with the Director of Major Gifts and Volunteer and In-Kind to cultivate, sustain and grow all volunteer relationships within the agency and support donors through the in-kind donation process. They work collaboratively with Friends of Youth’s employees, coordinate Volunteer and in-kind donor opportunities and provide a positive Volunteer and donor experience.
essential duties
- Assist in the process to cultivate, sustain and grow volunteer engagement opportunities with individuals, community groups and businesses that align with the agency’s volunteer needs.
- Post volunteer opportunities and ensure they remain up to date.
- Participate in the planning of agency volunteer recruitment and ensuring agency goals and requirements are met.
- Create volunteer recognition efforts, including volunteer appreciation events and other activities.
- Assist with the coordination of the annual Giving Tree program and coordinate with employees to assemble gift lists and coordinate gift pick-up and delivery.
- Participate in the process to oversee in-kind donations, acknowledgement of in-kind donors, storage and maintenance of in-kin donations and timely distribution of donated items to program services.

We require:
- High School Diploma or General Certificate of Education (GED).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Lived experience of homelessness can be supplemented for work experience and/or education.
- Personal volunteer experiences preferred.
- WA Driver’s license with a safe driving record
- Proof of COVID vaccination
- Must satisfactorily pass criminal background check.
- Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test.
- Must have a valid Washington State driver's license.
- Must have a safe driving record as defined by Friends of Youth.
- Must successfully complete the following health certification requirements within 30 days of employment: CPR, First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens training
