Position Title: Coordinator, Accounts Payable
Position Reports To: Manager, Accounts Payable
Position Summary: MLB Network seeks a Coordinator, Accounts Payable to code and process invoices in the Company's accounting system. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment and who collaborates effectively.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assist with the processing and submission of invoices for payment into the Company's accounting system.
- Coordinate with MLB Office of the Commissioner for the setup and maintenance of new vendors.
- Assist with processing of purchase orders into the accounting system.
- Print, sort and distribute Accounts Payable checks on a weekly basis.
- Provide the cash requirements report to Accounting on a weekly basis.
- Assist in the annual 1099 reporting process.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with vendors, employees, and other administrative departments in support of AP procedures.
- Assist with financial statement audit and other special projects as assigned.
- Other such duties as required.
Skills & Experience: The ideal candidate must have most if not all of the following skills and experiences:
- 0-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Knowledge of accounting systems (knowledge of Oracle Fusion is preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Superior attention to detail.
- Able to maintain confidential information.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function as an effective team member.
- Ability to multitask.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as required, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Demonstrate the tact, diplomacy, decisiveness, and superior people skills required in the pressurized environment of live television.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, and/or kneel for extended periods of time.
- Possess the manual dexterity needed to effectively create required work product.
- Possess the visual acuity needed to effectively create required work product.
- Possess the auditory acuity needed to effectively create required work product.
Education: Bachelor's degree is required; Accounting or Finance major is preferred
Work Classification: Flextime. Employee permitted to work remotely 40% of the week, with the days in the office determined by the manager of the individual employee.
