ACCOUNTS PAYABLE / RECEIVABLE
12 MONTH POSITION
The Medford Township Public Schools seeks an Accounts Payable / Receivable Secretary. The successful candidate should possess the following:
* High school diploma
* Experience related to the Accounts Payable/receivable function
* General secretarial skills
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO: Business Administrator/Board Secretary
JOB GOAL: The Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices to include coding, processing and research. In addition, the position is responsible for providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position's essential functions and elements include, but are not limited to:
* Operate and maintain computerized Accounts Payable/receivable system.
* Maintain and reconcile all files of purchase orders placed with vendors, match receiving documents with purchase orders, runs necessary computer programs for payment of vendors.
* Telephone and mail contacts with vendors.
* Trace errors and record adjustments to correct changes or credits posted to incorrect amounts.
* Maintain complete and systematic records of all financial transactions of the district.
* Post cash receipt transactions, runs necessary computer monthly income report programs.
* Coordinate and prepare monthly bill list
* Run necessary computer programs for monthly financial statements and school reports to reflect the financial condition of the school district.
* Record purchase of new equipment on inventory change report.
* Balance accounts at end of fiscal year, run necessary end-of-fiscal year computer programs.
* Perform such tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as they may be assigned from time to time.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the board's policy on evaluation of support staff.
