Successful Controls Engineers will assist & manage project implementation, control system design, hardware selection, testing, R&D, & troubleshooting. You will create all elements of a project controls package including PLC programs, HMI applications & detailed analysis of each control system installed.
Safety is Always Our First Priority. The Controls Engineer ensures safe work practices at all times. We support our Sales & Field Teams, Service Calls, & Project Investigations. The right Candidate will become proficient in understanding multiple Conveyor Systems & equipment manufacturers. You will have R&D responsibilities to support project designs, specific customer specifications, manufacturer requirements, & ancillary equipment operation. While Systems Automated strives to commission every project remotely, you may have project related travel roughly 25%.
- Develop PLC & HMI applications by project specifications using company/industry standards/best practices
- Publish components of controls package & As-Built controls related documentation
- Controls devices configuration & testing including cameras, VFDs, PCs, Scanners, control cards (MDR / KEYENCE)
- Coordinate with Panel Production in Design & Fabrication of Control Panels
- FAT & SAT - Factory & Site Acceptance Testing including Panel QC & control system IO & functionality checkout
- Assist in creating & approve relay logic applications, document project progress & provide team updates
- Project commissioning/startup, service calls, R&D, field & customer support remotely or onsite
- Capable of commissioning typical systems without assistance. Become proficient in Conveyer Systems, Automated Material Handling Transfers, Sorters, Spirals, 2-to-1 typical merges & typical 3-to-1 merges
- Understand related Software & some Software Engineer capabilities / PLC programming (Preferably Rockwell Allen Bradley)
- Control System Design / Relay Logic Design / Industrial Networks
- Python / SQL / Ignition (HMI, Scripting) / AutoCAD Electrical or SolidworksElectrical
- WMS/WCS interfaces using 3rd party APIs, SQL procedures/tables
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
