Summary
Our client, an established leader in the metal distribution and manufacturing industry with over 50 years of expertise in Greater Philadelphia, is seeking a confident and dynamic Contoller/Accounting Manager on site 5 days a week to oversee the accounting function. This role requires a proactive problem solver who thrives on tackling new challenges.

As the Controller/Accounting Manager, you'll be at the forefront of numerous accounting and financial activities, reporting directly to the CFO. We're looking for someone with a can-do attitude, a personable demeanor, and a willingness to support colleagues. Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Month-End Leadership:
  • Drive the orchestration of month-end close and allocation processes, ensuring a smooth and efficient financial operation.
  • Showcase your strategic prowess in crafting and presenting insightful monthly financial reports and dynamic business presentations.
  • Masterful Financial Statements:
  • Demonstrate your financial mastery by preparing full financial statements on a monthly/quarterly basis.
  • Lead the consolidation process, presenting comprehensive consolidated financial statements, including cash flow statements, balance sheets, and income statements.
  • Year-End Precision:
  • Navigate year-end complexities with precision, managing accruals and adjusting entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconciliation Expertise:
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail through monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
  • Lead local tax return preparation and handle miscellaneous filings with precision.
  • Innovation and Technology Leadership:

 

  • Spearhead innovation by leading software implementation and contributing to cutting-edge database development and management.
  • Collaborate with the team on projects that leverage technology for enhanced efficiency and strategic insights.
  • Adaptability and Initiative:
  • Embrace variety by proactively taking on additional duties assigned by Management, showcasing your adaptability and commitment to organizational success.
  • Strategic Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Contribute to the organization's growth by actively participating in the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Provide valuable insights and analysis to drive informed decision-making.
  • Leadership in Special Projects:
  • Be a visionary leader in special project teams, leveraging your expertise to make a strategic impact on the organization.
  • Cost Analysis and Optimization:
  • Provide in-depth analysis and evaluation of cost and expense, driving insights that contribute to cost-effective operations.
  • Proactive Financial Planning:
  • Lead quarterly/annual projections, demonstrating your proactive approach to financial planning and strategy.
  • Excellence in Audit Support:
  • Provide crucial support during scheduled audits, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and compliance.
  • Payroll Precision and Bank Reporting:
  • Manage payroll processing with precision, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee bank reporting, cultivating strong relationships with financial institutions.

 

Job Requirements

  • Educational Excellence:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred. Our client believes in investing in the team's knowledge, and your educational background will be a strong foundation for success in this role.
  • Diverse Industry Experience:

  • Master of US GAAP:
