Job Purpose/Summary

Responsible for developing and facilitating effective training for CIS Nevada staff. This role collaborates closely with the Programs, Data, and Learning Director to ensure accessible professional development across all three affiliates. This position creates and manages training modules through the CIS Nevada learning management system (LMS), ensuring the system is updated and organized regularly. It is responsible for implementing the CIS Nevada Site Coordinator Training Plan and coordinating virtual and in-person training opportunities for staff across the state. It works closely with Training Specialists from all three affiliates and the state office to ensure quality standards and consistency of new staff onboarding (through the first 90 days) and post-onboarding training and support. It contributes to the development and organization of tools and resources for program and administrative staff, providing essential training to equip staff with the necessary skills to uphold the integrity of the CIS Model of Integrated Student Supports and drive improved student outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

Create, Facilitate, Broker, and Coordinate CIS Nevada Training
  • Develop and deliver engaging, effective training for staff across all three affiliates and the state office, virtually and in-person.
  • Cultivate expertise in adult learning and instructional design best practices to enhance training program effectiveness.
  • Conduct thorough research and community outreach to identify, evaluate, and validate external trainers, consultants, and resources suitable for CIS Nevada's training and professional development initiatives.
  • Assist in establishing performance standards for Site Coordinators, Program Managers, and Program Directors.
  • Contribute to the planning, coordination, and leadership of training sessions at Back-to-School Summits across the state.
  • Contribute to planning and developing an annual calendar of training options for program, management and administrative staff to correspond with training standards, staff needs and scheduling challenges to provide career advancement opportunities and enhanced program outcomes.
  • Enhance Site Coordinator access to tools and resources, fostering the development of their professional relationship-building skills for quality partnerships with educators, school leaders, and key stakeholders.
  • Apply a D.E.B.I. lens to develop training, ensuring inclusive, diverse, and equitable support for staff.
  • Internalize CIS National Accreditation Standards, ensuring alignment with CIS Nevada's training and development programs for Site Coordinators and beyond.
Manage Programs & Data Dept. Learning Management System
  • Implement a comprehensive learning management system (LMS) to streamline training and onboarding processes for all CIS Nevada staff in collaboration with the HR Department.
  • Manage and update the LMS to ensure content relevance, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with various departments and subject matter experts to identify training needs and create modules that address those requirements.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of engaging training materials and resources within the LMS, utilizing multimedia and interactive elements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, educational technologies, and advancements in training methodologies to continuously improve the LMS.
  • Conduct regular assessments to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and report on the completion and success rates of training modules to program management and human resources, ensuring compliance with organizational training requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and user guides for the LMS to facilitate ease of use and understanding for staff members. Provide technical support and/or training to users navigating the LMS and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
Shape New Employee Onboarding & Continued Development for Staff
  • Collaborate with the Southern Nevada Training Manager, ensuring effective onboarding for newly hired Site Coordinators during their initial 90 days.
  • Collaborate with Program Management to oversee the development of Site Coordinators post-onboarding and implement an annual calendar of training options.
  • Coordinate with the Human Resource Department to align with onboarding policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with the Programs, Data & Learning Director, Program Management, and Data Departments to address the training and development needs of both new and existing Site Coordinators and other staff. Update materials and resources accordingly.
  • Provide recommendations for additional development opportunities tailored to the needs of all Site Coordinators.

Collaboration & Special Projects

  • Participate as an active team member of the State Office, through attendance and engagement in meetings, trainings, professional development, teambuilding, and other activities as required.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Programs, Data, & Learning Director.
  • Assist and work collaboratively with affiliate management and data teams.
  • Participate in weekly check-in meetings with supervisor.
  • Participate in monthly Programs, Grants, & Data department meetings.
  • Travel to Northern and Western affiliates as needed to secure and evaluate training options and effectiveness.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

Skills:

  • Expert writing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced technological skills, including expert knowledge of Microsoft 365, experience with Learning Management Systems a plus.
  • Advanced graphics design and video editing skills preferred.
  • Ability to set goals, meet deadlines and evaluate results.
  • Ability to coach and motivate direct reports
  • Ability to manage relationships with various professionals in various locations.
  • Ability to support the strategic development of state programming.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position preferred.
  • 3+ years of training and/or coaching experience in a professional setting.
  • Experience with adult learning and delivery or virtual training required.
  • Experience using learning management systems (ex. – CISU, Canvas, Moodle, etc.) required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Up to 20% travel required across state affiliates and to and from school sites.
  • Moderate noise levels as found in a business office and classroom setting.
