Controller/Client Relationship Manager

Work From Home: YourCFO’s business culture has always been a work-from-home environment that provides our employees with more personal time, that is not consumed by office commutes. Candidates who reside within 50 miles of Pittsburgh, PA will be given preference for this position. Approximately 10-20% local travel to client offices in the Greater Pittsburgh, PA area can be expected.

Job Summary: The Controller acts as the main Client Relationship Manager and is responsible for providing leadership, management, and oversight for YourCFO’s Small Business clients. This role provides the candidate with an interesting variety of work assignments, as well as opportunities to build rewarding client relationships with positive impacts on both the client and YourCFO staff.

This position will take a hands-on, pro-active approach to:

· Managing the client relationship and scope of work on each engagement

· Directing and performing the financial closing process and financial reporting and analysis

· Mentoring and guiding a team to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement with a focus on an efficient use of resources and technology, as well as exceptional client service.

· Design, manage/assist in budgeting, cash forecasting, year-end tax support, guiding accounting policy and procedure and oversight over the overall accounting system

Accountability: This position reports directly to the Partners of YourCFO, who are supportive, hands-on, accessible leaders that value and promote a true “work/life balance” culture for their employees.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in a Controller role (preferably working with small businesses)
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), accrual basis accounting, and the month-end closing process.
• Must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to direct, mentor, and positively influence a team.
• Have a good working knowledge of QuickBooks Pro, QuickBooks Online, Word & Excel.
