Controller/Accounting Manager

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility is to evaluate and make improvements to accounting processes while ensuring that practices comply with organization accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations. Manages various accounting functions including ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue and asset accounting, as well as associated analysis and reporting. Serves on the EOS leadership team.

• Lead, mentor, motivate, and manage a team accounting, human resources, and IT staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Collaborate closely with the EOS leadership team to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
• Establish and maintain internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
• Responsible for running timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
• Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
• Manage cash flow effectively, including vendor relations to ensure timely payments, verify the accuracy of accounts payable and receivable processes, and assess and validate customers for credit extension to ensure collectability.
• Provide financial analysis and propose recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
• Coordinate with external accounting and tax firm for annual review and tax filings.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Serve as backup for processing payroll.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or related field.
• Five years of relevant experience with a progression of responsibilities.
• CPA designation a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail with a proven history of a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to collaborate with all departments.
• Proficient in accounting software, willing to learn new software programs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Environment:

• Office and manufacturing environment.
• Some teleworking permitted.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Accounting, human resources and information technology.
