Contractor – Licensed Social Worker Writer/Reviewer (LCSW or LMSW)

Summary

Springer Publishing Company is seeking experienced, Licensed Social Workers on a part-time, contract basis to write and review content for our certification exam preparation products. Writer/reviewers will work collaboratively with our Exam Preparation team to create new exam-style assessment items and to provide detailed, constructive feedback to help guide the work of other experts.

Qualified candidates will have current knowledge and experience in the field, excellent writing skills, a solid understanding of exam-style assessment items, and the ability to meet or beat schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Create new, high-quality exam-style assessment items that are accurate, current, clear, and challenging.

· Review and provide detailed, actionable feedback on existing assessment items or other exam preparation material to ensure accuracy, currency, clarity, and quality.

· Work with Springer project managers and content development editors to ensure work meets project requirements.

· Provide regular updates to demonstrate progress against project schedule.

Qualifications

· Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

· Current or recent employment in the field

· Personal access to current, reputable reference materials

· Ability to distill complex SW topics to key points

· Thorough understanding of the essential elements of a high-quality assessment item (including remediation)

· Experience in writing and reviewing exam-style assessment items preferred

· Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail

· Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and to accept and act upon the same

· High proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

· Ability to demonstrate qualifications by submitting writing samples for pre-contract review

· Ability to adhere to a strict schedule

Position Type

Part-time, contract

Time Commitment

Varies by project. Contractors will submit or review a fixed number of items on a schedule determined for each project. Project start dates vary.

Pay

Per item with the rate based on the type of work (e.g., writing versus review) and candidate experience
