POSITION OVERVIEW
The Construction supervisor will be in control of the jobsite and responsible to CVHC for all site activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Responsible for effective family building instruction and team building.
· Provide instruction, training, and supervision to Mutual self-help home participants.
· Maintain good working relationships with Mutual self-help participants and officials.
· Ensures and implements all CVHC and OSHA safety measures at the jobsite.
· Ensure availability of proper tools, and efficient use including minimizing wasteful practices.
· Coordinate families work to meet construction goals.
· Supervise families to fulfill the 65% of construction (approx. 40-hours a week) work requirement.
· Track progress vs assigned timeline.
· Maintain records as required (progress, labor, time, construction phases, purchasing, etc.) following established procedures.
· Schedules inspections, sub-contractor work and orders materials to ensure timely completion of the project.
· Work with SF Constutrction Superintendent, inspectors, contractors, utilities, vendors, governmental agencies, and others to ensure successful completion of all phases of construction.
· Scheduling the delivery of materials.
· Schedule and supervise work of sub-contractor to ensure quality.
· Ensure that all homes are built in a professional manner according to the plans, specification codes, budgetary restrictions and all inspections are passed.
· Perform other work-related duties as required or requested.

Education and/or Experience
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Have professional building skills or equivalent carpentry training.
Required Technical Skills
· Be able to read and interpret plans, blueprint specs, supervise and train all aspects of site preparation, pre-construction and construction activities and scheduling.
Required Licenses/Certifications
· Valid California Driver's license
· Reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance with Bodily Injury limits of 100,000/300,000 or more as required in the CVHC personnel handbook.
Other Skills and Abilities
· Be able to follow and/or enforce program regulations, site safety rules, contracts, reporting requirements and procedures.
· Be Bilingual in the languages specific to the area of construction (Spanish / English).
· Be able to teach construction skills to unskilled workers and work with people of varying socioeconomic levels.
· Be willing to work irregular hours as needed.
· Adequate writing and verbal skills
· Agree to accept this position as a full-time job and not to accept any additional employment which may interfere with or prove detrimental to the job responsibilities.

Pay: $21.05 - $26.87 per hour
