IKEA Service Office (Corp) is actively seeking a talented Construction Project Management professional with a strong passion for operations and project management. The ideal applicant will have extensive industry knowledge with at least 5 years of project management experience in construction (ideally in commercial or retail). The ideal candidate profile will be someone with a strong leadership background, outstanding interpersonal and time management skills, experience managing budgets, and an excellent communicator with a proven track record of success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage Construction Projects from start to finish
- Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Coordinate and communicate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Review and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure project specifications are met
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other professionals to ensure project success
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, permits, and change orders
- Responsible to ensure delivery of safe, compliant, sustainable and innovative property solution that meet the needs of the business and the many people
- Participate and contribute in the development in the Cluster of how to engage with designers and contractors in the projects to continuously find cost efficient and innovative project delivery by optimizing the use of our partners and stakeholder’s competence and knowledge into the projects.
- Implement all Construction Project delivery strategies, methods and procedures developed in the Cluster and align implementation and communication of those activities with all stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate profile and Qualifications:
- Academic degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent working experience
- At least 5 years' experience as a Construction Project Manager; experience within the retail or commercial sector is preferred
- At least 5 years' experience with procurement processes and contract negotiations
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, standards and investment procedures
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting schematics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously and exceptional time management skills to ensure projects are complete on schedule
Location: This position is a hybrid role that reports to our office in Conshohocken, PA three days a week.
Travel: 50% Travel annual
