Akana, a Native American-owned multi-discipline consulting firm with a diverse portfolio of clients and projects throughout the United States, is seeking to add a Construction Inspector and Remediation Sample Collector to our firm.
This position is full-time.
The project takes place near Northport, Washington. Northport is just south of the US/Canada border and about 2.5 hours North of Spokane This position will require the employee to stay locally near the site due to the Monday-Friday (10 hr. day) schedule. The current projection for work is 12 weeks (60 working days) but depending on the progress of the awarded contractor, may be extended.
General Responsibilities are:
- Onsite Construction Observations for Remediation work
- Soil Sampling with Chain of Custody completion
- Job Hazard Analysis completion and adherence
- Full-Time Onsite Construction Observations
- Soil Sampling from spoils piles (provided by Contractor)
- Completion of Chain of Custody Documentation and shipping to designated lab
- Daily Observation Reporting with photo documentation with meta data
- Record any changes to the contract documents during construction
- Track truck ticket quantities
- Review monthly pay requests
- Attendance at weekly meetings onsite
- Validate Contractor Record drawings at completion of project
- Final inspection walk with punch list
- Aid in completion of Cleanup Action Report
- Develop good working relationships with vendors and subcontractors that support successful projects and may lead to client referrals
- Other duties as assigned
