POSITION SUMMARY
The Compliance function is a key role in the organization responsible for ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, as well as internal policies for the minimization and mitigation of compliance and reputational risks.
DIMENSIONS OF ROLE
As Senior Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for setting the rules and controls at AXA Partners US for Consumer Protection, United States of America and International Sanctions or Restrictive Measures, Anti-Bribery/Gifts and Entertainment, Conflict of Interest, Due Diligence Procedures, Ethics and Professional Conduct, Best Practices / Regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring that the rules and controls comply with applicable regulations and AXA Partners policies.
You must be knowledgeable in U.S. insurance regulation (P&C and A&H preferred) and will be supporting the development of new insurance programs, products, agent/producer & insurance distribution, and licensing requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following Compliance responsibilities are to:
- Support implementation of AXA Partners Compliance programs and policies.
- Support business teams and act as a business partner to leadership ensuring activities are conducted in a compliant manner.
- Performance of local and regional regulatory watch & risk assessments.
- Foster a culture of compliance through awareness and training to the local management teams and employees regarding compliance topics.
- Support business units to maintain compliance with the US OFAC Sanctions Program Framework and FCPA obligations.
- Work with the business to identify compliance risks and implement action plans.
- Support management to design and implement compliance controls and procedures to mitigate the identified compliance risks;
- Monitor compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as internal compliance and ethical standards.
- Monitor the compliance framework and help support internal and external compliance audits. (Tracking new state & federal laws, regulatory changes, breach reporting, incident escalation, process on all activities concerning compliance);
- Support the different teams in developing projects according to commercial necessities, but also in compliance with AXA compliance requirements.
- Support the administration in case of breaches of policies or laws by employees, suppliers, or business partners (Investigation and imposition of corrective measures).
- Review advertising materials and digital media, terms and conditions, forms, contracts, and disclosures, to ensure compliance with applicable consumer protection laws, rules, and regulations.
- Support U.S. insurance new business and the development of new insurance programs.
- Maintain all required U.S. state licensure for regulated programs.
- Participate in the Risks Committees (or equivalent), or any other where presence is required.
- Act as the main point of contact between the local entities and Central Compliance team.
- Report on a regular basis to Sr. Compliance Officer at Central Level.
- Resolve employee concerns about compliance.
- And other compliance duties, as assigned.
Your Profile
- You bring seven or more years of compliance experience related to U.S. insurance and regulatory compliance.
- You must be highly collaborative, able to develop basic knowledge of business activities and know how to partner with all departments within the company while maintaining the necessary independence to identify risks and facilitate corrective actions.
- You communicate (verbally and in writing) effectively and professionally to all levels of management. You respect and adhere to strict deadlines.
- You have excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail. You have strong integrity and professional ethics.
