Essential Duties:
- Process experience verification requests for departing employees. Handle employment verification requests that require income verification. Assess experience verifications for new hires, determining credit eligibility and accurately place them on the salary scale.
- In collaboration with the HR administrators, assess jobs and their respective duties to determine Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) classification as exempt or non-exempt, and appropriate salary range. Maintain job classification systems, review job descriptions, and conduct job evaluations to determine appropriate salary ranges and classifications.
- Assist in developing and updating compensation procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, district policies, and best practices.
- Advise management on applicable state and federal employment regulations, benefits and compensation
- policies, and Human Resource procedures, and collaborate with HR teams and administrators to communicate compensation-related information, address inquiries, and provide guidance on compensation matters.
- Evaluate existing compensation structures, conduct market research, and analyze salary surveys to ensure the district's compensation packages are competitive and aligned with industry standards.
- Provide assistance in managing annual salary/step increases, compensation guidelines, work calendars, and related processes.
- Ensure accurate communications to employees regarding compensation.
- Stay updated on legal requirements and industry trends concerning compensation. Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Provide recommendations based on analysis to HR leadership regarding compensation adjustments, salary increases, promotions, and other related initiatives. Assist in implementing approved changes effectively.
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to compensation, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or state approved High School Equivalency (HSE), required. Bachelor's degree or coursework in Accounting, preferred.
- Minimum of three years in a compensation/Human Resources-related position, preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with minimal supervision utilizing various technologies.
- Ability to independently conduct, interpret, document, and deliver analysis.
- Strong human relations and communication skills; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills with applicable knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation.
- Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
- Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
- Ability to be present at the physical worksite.
- Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
- Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
