Job Summary
As the Director of the COMPASS division, you will provide executive management, leadership and direction for the Minnesota Department of Education COMPASS, the statewide continuous improvement system. Duties will include:
- Develop, facilitate and lead a collaborative statewide system designed to meet Minnesota districts, charter organizations, and tribal schools where they are in work to accelerate student learning through a statewide system supporting comprehensive district and school improvement efforts;
- Supervise the COMPASS leadership team, including leading and setting direction for the MnMTSS framework, statewide school improvement activities under ESSA, the agency's efforts to integrate specific required state plans into One Plan; and
- Coordinate the agency's World Best Workforce integration with COMPASS and One Plan.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
7 years of experience in a district or school leadership role
OR
A bachelor's or master's degree AND 6 years of experience in a district or school leadership role
Experience must include:
- Past Supervisory or Managerial experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with system change leadership
- Led an effective school turn-around
- Experience in both urban and rural settings, as well as at the school and district level
- State leadership experience
- Culturally responsive school leadership
- Implementation experience of the MnMTSS framework and Minnsota Atlas for Learning Acceleration in High Quality Tier One (Core) instruction
