Job Summary
In this role, you will lead development of a strategic Data Governance framework to capitalize on Commerce's investment in data collection and management, protection of sensitive data, and ensuring data standards for quality, access and usability, and sharing.
Your work will include:
  • Leading the development of Data Governance policies, procedures, and standards;
  • Providing support and consultation to Commerce's Executive Team, division directors and managers, and staff;
  • Supervising staff responsible for Data Governance, data practices, and contracts management; and
  • Closely collaborating with our internal controls and data sciences divisions.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Only applicants whose resumes clearly demonstrated fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for this position. Experience must include:
6 years of professional experience in a data management, data practices, or strategic project management
OR
Bachelor's degree AND 5 years of professional experience in a data management, data practices, or strategic project management.
OR
Equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Applicants who meet the above education and experience must also meet the following to be considered further:
  • Supervisory or managerial experience including staff oversight.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience developing or coordinating Data Governance.
  • Familiarity with the State's contracting policies and laws.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and conflict resolution Interview.

Physical Requirements
Requires occasional moving of articles such as boxes, accounting records, laptop computer, and portable printer.
