JOB SUMMARY:
THINK Together’s vision is that all children will receive the support they need from family, school, and community to enable them to reach their potential and become productive adults and, responsible, contributing members of the community. The Community Program Center Manager will work to plan, coordinate, and implement programming for the Learning and Teen Centers while engaging community and family members. The goal of the program is to support healthy youth development and improved academic achievement through increased family, community, and business sector engagement in the center. The FCCC will ensure that the programs meet educational and enrichment objectives and are managed in accordance with policies and procedures including safe work practices. The FCCC will work closely with other THINK Together staff, school administration, teachers, parent/community volunteers to develop a successful model that has the potential to be replicated at other schools throughout the organization. The FCCC will serve as a role model for the community, fostering leadership qualities and skills, and harnessing the assets and talents of the families serving in the program. The FCCC will support THINK Together’s value that family and community involvement in education is a crucial strategy in closing the achievement gap and is the shared responsibility of families, schools, and communities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the day-to-day operations of Learning and Teen Center programs (K-12, alumni, adults, and community) including staff, budget responsibilities & oversight, and facilities.
• Build awareness and buy-in of the program among students, families, community members, schools, community organizations, and city departments.
• Work collaboratively with the community and stakeholders to implement services in alignment with needs and demographics and uplifts community voice.
• Plan, lead and conduct outreach activities (phone calls, one-on-one meetings, volunteer events, etc.) to involve youth, families, and community at the center.
• Implement a high-quality expanded learning program that incorporates Think Together selected curricula, behavioral standards, policies, and procedures for ensuring quality content, student safety, and appropriate management practices.
• Build awareness of services provided by center to wider community.
• Coordinate the delivery of workshops and access to networks and resources that enhance the college and career development of all students including those in K-12 and college.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations and the business sector to bring services, learning, and enrichment opportunities to families.
• Provide leadership for program staff, coaching, training, and performance assessments to ensure quality programming is delivered to our students.
• Ensure delivery of quality components: homework assistance, academic and enrichment learning opportunities
• Collect and report on data required to evaluate the program’s progress and outcomes.
• Participate regularly in planning, implementation, and evaluation meetings with Think Together staff and with partner organizations, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Social Services, Education, or related fields
• Three to five years’ experience with community organizing, community outreach and/or volunteer management; preferably working with low income, Latino families.
• Experience delivering or facilitating trainings.
• Track record of relationship building with a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Range: $67,000-$70,000/yr
