ABOUT PARKWAY-ROCKWOOD COMMUNITY ED:
Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed is a partnership of the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts that provides high-quality programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.
POSITION SUMMARY:As a member of the Community Ed team, the Marketing & Communications Supervisor provides leadership in the planning, execution and evaluation of the strategic marketing plan to drive program enrollment, impact staffing and build public awareness of Community Ed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Develop and maintain the Community Ed voice and brand through storytelling and visual language via electronic, web-based, social media and print communications
2. Collaborate with Director and department staff to gain and maintain a thorough understanding of programs and their marketing/communications needs.
3. Lead the development and publication of program guides, flyers, postcards, supplemental print materials and other informational materials, including contracted services or third-party software.
4. Ensure a high-quality customer experience on the Community Ed website and online registration platform, including maintaining home and program landing pages and ensuring efficient site navigation.
5. Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of department staffing needs and provide leadership in creating and implementing marketing/communication plans to impact staffing.
6. Participate in and provide relevant and accurate marketing/communications insight as a member of the Community Ed Leadership Team and on department-wide committees.
7. Research and analyze data and trends regarding customer demographics and community needs.
8. Establish a system to track, analyze, and evaluate marketing and promotions performance in a way that produces tangible and relevant data to be used in decision-making.
9. Lead search engine optimization efforts to increase awareness of Community Ed in the community.
10. Lead the creation and distribution of internal staff communications measures, including but not limited to staff newsletters, staff updates.
11. Lead planning and execution of the department's annual Summer Expo event, and assist with and attend other special events and activities of the department as needed.
12. Supervise, evaluate and provide direction to assigned staff to ensure marketing/communications needs of the department are being met.
13. Coordinate and lead photography and video creation that is in accordance with messaging, branding and quality for use in marketing efforts. This can include attending programs as needed to capture photos and videos.
14. Serve as liaison between both Parkway and Rockwood Communications departments.
15. Research and implement up-to-date trends and best practices in marketing/communications in the field and incorporate them into Community Ed's ongoing marketing/communications strategies.
16. Have knowledge of local media and work directly with district Communications departments as needed to obtain and facilitate correct media coverage.
17. Represent Community Ed at programs and in the districts, and community as needed.
18. Ensure that all digital communication efforts comply with relevant laws and regulations.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor's degree required; communications, marketing, journalism, business or comparable discipline preferred.
2. 3-5 years experience with increasing responsibilities in the marketing/communications field.
3. Experience supervising staff preferred.
4. Exceptionally strong writing, analytical, communications and organizational skills.
5. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at the same time.
6. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite software preferred.
7. Experience with the use of technology and social media in a business setting.
8. Experience with Google Analytics preferred.
9. Experience with Canva preferred.
10. Working knowledge and understanding of Google Workspaces and Microsoft Office software.
11. Knowledge of photography and video editing preferred.
12. Must submit a portfolio of related work.
EQUIPMENT USED:
- General office equipment, photography and video equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Within assigned building(s) in Parkway and Rockwood locations; outside of school buildings as needed, which may include during inclement weather.
- Ability to travel throughout the Districts and work non-traditional hours when required which may include nights and weekends.
- While performing duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
In this job, no two days are the same. You might write for the website, work with the digital communications specialist on a social media campaign, meet with program staff to learn about a new program, analyze program evaluation results or write an important communication to program participants.
We are looking for an individual who has the skill set and initiative to take ownership of the position and take our marketing and communications efforts to the next level.
Position is located at the Community Ed office on the campus of Ellisville Elementary in Ellisville, MO.
This is a full-time position with a minimum salary of $54,500/year (commensurate with experience).
