Position Summary:
Girl Scouts of Western Washington has an excellent opportunity in the Community Development team for a Community Development Manager to support Pierce, Mason & Kitsap Counties region. The Community Development Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of plans to recruit both youth members and adult volunteers in a way that positively supports organizational membership goals. This position requires meeting, presenting, and networking with potential members and their families, community organizations, schools, corporations, educators, faith-based institutions, and other community constituents. This is a regular non-exempt, full-time position with requirements to be or become a WA resident. This position's salary will be $31.46 - $34.13 DOE.

Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Viewing market data and other pertinent information to become knowledgeable about demographics, community needs and possibilities for youth and adult recruitment in your assigned area.
- Help inform and implement Girl Scouts of Western Washington's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategies to better reflect the communities we are a part of.
- Plan, organize, and promote effective recruitment opportunities through all available channels, including in person and virtual. Collect and follow up with leads generated by volunteers at events and through other recruiting activities.
- Facilitate the formation of new Girl Scout troops.
- Acquire cross-training to support focus areas as needed.
- Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with volunteers and community partners such as schools, faith-based organizations, civic groups, etc.
- Represent and promote Girl Scouting in the community by building community awareness by highlighting the benefits of membership to the public.
- Collaborate with member-facing departments and support departments to achieve goals and benchmarks, uphold our customer service philosophy, follow the Standard Operating Procedure Manual, and maintain quality and reliable data.
- Work to ensure Girl Scouts is open to all youth and adults by delivering the organization's message of diversity to the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education Required:
- Education or degree related to working with youth or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- One year of experience in recruiting or sales; previous experience working with volunteers preferred.
- Experience working in or with youth-serving organizations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bilingual/bicultural in languages and/or cultures with a significant presence in Western Washington preferred. Preference will be given to Spanish-speaking candidates
- Experience successfully working with a variety of racial and ethnic groups.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize deadlines, work independently, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds across a wide geographic area
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to navigate technology programs and platforms independently to include MS O365, social media; Salesforce experience strongly preferred and the ability/willingness to learn new technologies
- Valid Washington State driver's license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance, or the ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across widespread regional geography
- Availability to work varied hours (including some nights and weekends) and travel as position requires.
- Demonstrated commitment to support efforts to enhance the cultural competence and global awareness of Girl Scouts, volunteers, and employees
- Competent in working in a changing environment; flexible and adaptable, and skilled in dealing with ambiguity
- Ability to adapt schedule to increases in seasonal work volume i.e. longer workdays in the fall recruiting season
- Knowledge of Girl Scout program helpful but not required
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds with or without accommodations.
- Have and maintain a good driving record with the ability to operate in a constant state
- Satisfactory results from criminal background search
- Willingness to maintain membership in Girl Scouts
