Your Responsibilities
As a Communications Specialistfor John Deere Seeding Group, located in Moline, IL, you will use various communication media to share function-related information with appropriate audiences (internal and/or external) ensuring audiences are aware of, understand, and know the impact of the information. In addition, you will:
- Provide detailed communication plans and coordinate unit/division/function initiative messages to ensure audiences receive timely notice in regard to current projects, events, or changes impacting the business
- Develop strategic communication content for key projects, events, or business changes for employees and senior leadership
- Work with multiple media such as video, design, and print
- Oversee project plans that are integral for the enterprise/division/unit
- Develop and manage a variety of communication tools for both internal and external audiences
- Manage the visitor services program which hosts customer, dealer, employee, student, and VIP groups

What Skills You Need
- Effective writing skills including grammatical usage, persuasive copy, and style
- Experience with communication theories, especially employee/internal communications both proactive and reactive, to drive employee engagement
- Strong familiarity with communication tools including digital, video, and photo
- Knowledge of design layout for both print publications and online media
- Demonstrated ability to creatively concept, ensuring all messaging aligns with the values of the business
- Ability to manage a dedicated Communications budget to reflect priorities and deliver expected outcomes
What Makes You Stand Out
- Graphic design background or similar knowledge following corporate brand guidance
- Professional writing, editing, and proofreading skills and experience including journalistic interviewing skills
- Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication
- Proven creative passion with the ability to devise communication strategies that align with the organization’s goals and values in a manner that resonates with employees
- Ability to think strategically, collaborate cross-functionally, influence without authority, manage projects, and build trust quickly
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or Business
