Communications Manager, Ai Editorial

We’re looking for an experienced writer and editor to produce clear, engaging blog content about complex cutting-edge technology for an audience of experts (researchers, engineers, and developers) and savvy, interested non-experts. You’ll collaborate with Meta’s researchers and other technical leads to unpack dense technical work on topics like self-supervised learning, natural language understanding, object segmentation, zero-shot learning, and Transformer-based AI models. You won’t just explain how a piece of technology works—you’ll also convey what makes it interesting and noteworthy, why it matters, and how it ties to Meta’s long-term vision. With some projects, you’ll write articles from scratch, with input from subject matter experts. With others, you’ll partner with our researchers and engineers to revise and finalize their drafts.Experience writing about technology for both experts and non-experts is essential. Experience digesting research papers and other dense source material is a strong plus. Experience managing editorial projects—creating workback plans, tracking feedback and approvals, collaborating with graphic designers and others—is also a core part of this role. You’ll need to excel at collaborating with complex cross-functional teams and working under significant time constraints and shifting timelines.

Communications Manager, AI Editorial Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of multiple pieces of content concurrently, from concept to publication, often under tight deadlines
• Manage editorial projects with a wide range of stakeholders and partners in public relations, marketing, creative, product, and legal
• Listen to feedback and use it to improve the quality of our stories prior to publication
• Help develop content beyond text-based stories—including infographics, charts, and videos
• Help manage a content calendar, build blog posts in our publishing tool, and oversee other aspects of blog creation

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of editorial experience, writing both short- and long-form content under tight deadlines
• Proven experience managing complex editorial projects, taking in (sometimes conflicting) feedback, and incorporating it as appropriate
• Proven experience to work with dense, complex source material (such as research papers) and translate it into clear, accessible prose
• Experience developing visual content and content for social media
• Proven experience to work independently and as part of highly cross-functional team
