Summary

Clinical Scheduler will support Physician(s) with care and clinical documentation into the electronic medical records in an efficient manner. Performs and directs patients care services including, but not limited to, scheduling appointments, filling prescriptions, accurate documentation and timely patient flow. Accurately performs ancillary healthcare services while assisting the physician through documentation of specific components of the patient visit and executing specified physician instructions. Ensures priority care is provided to patients in an emergency situation.

Essential Duties

• Liaison between the provider and patients
• Uses appropriate knowledge and skills in the care and interaction with customers across the age continuum
• Schedules appointments, answers questions, and/or determines the need for provider intervention
• Schedules and provide patients instructions(s) for tests, treatments and following correct insurance protocol (i.E. precertification, referrals, chart documentation, etc.)
• Schedules follow-up appointment, referrals, procedures, diagnostic imaging and provides appropriate instructions
• Completes referral process
• Monitors patient adherence to plan of care
• Ensures all reports and information are received from specialists (orders tracking)
• Filling maintenance prescriptions

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Healthcare experience, preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

• Current (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification or willingness to be certified within 90 days of hire
