- Performs a variety of clerical functions on the Nursing Unit including, but not limited to:
- Meeting, greeting, and orienting patients to floor.
- Answering questions from patients and/or family members, or redirecting to appropriate care team member for response.
- Transcribes orders; prepares patient chart on admission; ensures that chart is maintained appropriately; dismantles chart upon discharge; prepares diet and census sheets; rewrites medex once a week; prepares venipuncture list; assists in coordinating and compiling statistics as needed.
- Assists the care team with the discharge process.
- Answers telephones in a professional manner; distributes mail.
- Performs other duties as required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a doctor’s office or healthcare facility preferred.
