Job Summary:
Our Claims Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a caseload of temporary housing claims. This individual will provide guidance throughout the temporary housing process to ensure claims are closed in a timely manner, while building rapport with our insurance adjusters to develop a long-term business relationship.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Solely manage caseload of temporary housing claims to ensure each claim is successfully closed. Reach monthly closing percentage goals/targets.
- Communicate regularly with insurance adjusters and internal team to provide exceptional service on all claim related items.
- Problem solve when presented with barriers regarding claims and identify housing solutions to meet both the insurance adjuster and policyholder needs.
- Build rapport and develop strong working relationships with customers (insurance adjusters/vendors).
- Partner with Sales team to share insight on potential business opportunities.
- Present housing options to insurance adjusters for approval and communicate information back to internal team.
- Review, interpret, and make recommendations on lease terms/contracts to Housing team and insurance adjusters regarding temporary housing needs.
- Create summary of charges for insurance adjusters at the close of each claim.
- Track and maintain appropriate information regarding all claims in company database for internal use.
- Provide an exceptional customer service experience to each insurance adjuster and policyholder.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred. High School diploma required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a sales or service industry.
- Real Estate, Temporary Housing or Property Management experience strongly preferred.
- Strong work ethic and desire to reach and exceed claims goals.
- Professional, compassionate and friendly demeanor.
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills related to typing and data entry. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Highly organized, resourceful and ability to pay strong attention to detail.
- Time management skills with the ability to manage several priorities at once.
- Flexible work schedule. Evenings and weekends may be required.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate in both a verbal and written manner and must have the ability to hear and verbally respond during interactions with staff and customers. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands through fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
This position is full-time. It will require a flexible schedule that may necessitate evening and/or weekend coverage. Position will require on-call responsibilities/support as scheduled by management.
