Hybrid Partially Remote Temp-to-Hire Life, STD/LTDor Waiver Claims Examiners; Lombard, IL
Our client, a busy and fast-growing Insurance Company, is currently looking to fill nine remote temp-to-hire, Life, Disability or Waiver Claims Examiner Positions. You must have at least 1 year of recent claims and or benefits related work experience. A Bachelor’s Degree is required or equivalent work experience.
6 to 8 weeks of mandatory onsite training must be completed prior to working a hybrid partially remote work schedule.
You will be required to work 3 days onsite in the office and 2 days remotely from home. A company laptop will be provided for work purposes only.
These are temporary to hire, full-time positions
Hours: Monday-Friday from (8:00am to 4:30pm)
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for examining and processing all claim types including short-term or long-term disability, life, waiver of premium, critical illness, accident insurance for various policies.
- Review and promptly resolve customer problems and complaints concerning claims matters
- Respond to claim inquiries from insureds, beneficiaries, policyholders, and internal stakeholders. resolve issues through effective verbal and written communication.
- Investigate, research, verify and diligently obtain medical information on all claim types
- Adjudicate claims in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities in claim files in accordance with company practices
- Approve or deny claims within policy limits
- Assist in the preparation of grievance summaries and information for lawsuits.
- Examine and analyze life claim information and make benefit decisions and payments on claims
Job Qualification Requirements:
- Min. of one yr. of recent claims/benefits experience w/Life, STD/LTD & waiver of Benefits.
- A Bachelor Degree is required or 4 years of recent and related work experience.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, problem resolution, and research skills are needed.
- PC proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Lotus Notes is required.
- Excellent customer service & communication and time management skills are essential
- Experience processing one (1) of the following claim types: Life or Waiver of Premium claims.
- Experience in processing any of the following two (2) claim types: Critical Illness/Specified Disease, Accidental Insurance, GAP, Permanent and Total Disability (PTD benefits, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Permanent and Total Disability (PTD), Accelerated Death Benefits.
