Position Summary (Part-time position):
The Church Engagement Coordinator is the key staff role with the responsibility for growing and
developing the base of well-trained and supported volunteers and establishing Safe Family Churches.
Also, they are responsible to ensure volunteers are integrated into a Safe Family Church Community in
order to receive support and sustain their involvement.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Identify and engage churches at the participating, lead, and Community lead level.
2. Identify, train, and recruit church ministry leads and help them develop their ministry teams
3. Coach ministry leads to ensure SF churches regularly recruit, support, and empower their
volunteers.
4. Ensure that each Safe Families Church in your area is continually growing in their engagement
and moving forward to engage their current volunteers more deeply and new volunteers
5. Develops faith forums or other pastor gatherings as needed.
6. Ensure volunteers and churches are resourced appropriately to meet the needs of parents and
their children.
7. Networking within the community seeking to build alliances and open up avenues for the
recruitment of volunteers.
8. Regularly giving compelling presentations to audiences of various shapes and sizes about the
work of Safe Families.
9. Secure the interest of new volunteer applicants according to agreed targets, assisting them
through the Safe Families for Children vetting process.
10. Assist in the organizing and delivery of regular, high-quality training to volunteers.
11. Supervise the work of up to 20 Ministry Leads, ensuring good communication is flowing
between the Safe Families office and the churches and other community organizations involved.
12. Produce written reports to management, board, and key stakeholders.
13. Be a champion for the compassionate ethos of the charity, which is rooted in the historic Christian tradition of showing kindness and hospitality to those in need.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Engaging public speaker, articulate, with a winsome personality
An approachable, encouraging and informative leader of volunteers
Experience in networking and relationship building with senior church leaders
Able to produce excellent written communications and to utilize social media
Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
Self-starter, organized, and assertive
Experience of volunteer management and project planning methods
Operate within a staff small team and be a team player
Happy working to targets and deadlines, often involving working evenings and weekends
Able to drive with own vehicle and willing to transport children as needed.
Willing to work evenings and weekends as required

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
