Job Summary
Reporting to the Child Life Manager, the Child Life Fellow will participate in a one-year, donor-funded opportunity to work with CHOC patients and families while continuing to grow essential Child Life skills. The Child Life Fellow will be under the guidance of a CCLS to continue in the learning process and increase their clinical knowledge.
Pay Range
Minimum $43,950 Midpoint $58,240 Maximum $72,530
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
• Required: 600-hour Child Life internship and eligible to sit for Child Life certification exam.
• Preferred:
Education
• Required: Baccalaureate in Child Life, child development, family studies or related field. Must meet current certified Child Life specialist educational requirements set forth by the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP).
• Preferred: Master's in Child Life or related field.

Specialized Skills
• Required: Ability to build and establish positive relationships with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team. Great customer service standards. Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely manner, working collaboratively with all disciplines in the organization. Strong knowledge of infant, child, and adolescent growth and development. Strong knowledge of therapeutic play and coping facilitation techniques.
• Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish.
Licensure
• Required: Basic Life Support.
