Overview:
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5:30pm

Position Summary:
The Child Life Activity Coordinator implements and maintains a therapeutic activity program that facilitates patients in their efforts to integrate and adapt to their hospital experience. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care. This position primarily entails performing cleaning and disinfection tasks within the playroom. The days are typically fast-paced, and it's important to note that some of the children may be dealing with significant health challenges, which can be emotionally taxing.
Minimum Qualifications: 1+ years experience working with children, preferably in a health care environment.

  • Excellent customer (patients & families) service skills.
  • Able to be engaging with patients at all developmental levels.
  • Able to effectively communicate with staff, patients, and parents.
  • Bring a lot of enthusiasm, energy, and collaboration to the team.
  • Flexible with the ongoing coverage needs throughout the hospital.
  • Bi-lingual preferred (conversational is fine) Spanish/English.

Education/Licensure/Certifications: 12 units of child development coursework preferred. Pay Scale Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
