We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our team. As the COO, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Orthopaedic Medical Group Surgery Center and ensuring its smooth functioning. You will play a crucial role in driving operational excellence, implementing strategic initiatives, and managing key business functions. QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge: Must have extensive knowledge of the mission, vision, values, and commitments of the Orthopaedic Medical Group Surgery Center. Must be business minded, have clinical experience and leadership traits needed to make ethical and positive decisions to guide the group’s success. Must know basic orthopaedic terminology to include, anatomy and physiology. Must have the capacity to make sound decisions when dealing with employees and patients in most situations.
2. Education: Completion of applicable bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in health care, nursing, or business administration preferred.
3. Experience: Three to five years in an executive position or an equivalent leadership role required. Five to ten years of previous leadership experience preferred.
4. Training: Must complete OMGSC orientation and annual training. Must maintain accreditation of any required certifications.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Coordinates Facility business and financial activities and communicates according to the Organization’s philosophy and Governing Body.
- Established an organizational chart to show the lines of authority and communication. Enforces those lines of communication.
- Implements approved personnel policies and monitors that they are being followed.
- Oversees both front and back of house operations.
- Promotes effective communication within the facility, physicians’ offices, and business office.
- Monitors the business office to determine that activities are performed efficiently.
- Plans capital and operating budget based on financial data collected during the fiscal year.
- Conducts cost analyses, reports on cost-effectiveness of internal operations.
- Reviews all AP prior to entering in QuickBooks, confirms that all AP is correct and investigates when AP is not correct.
- Provides end of the month reporting in conjunction with CFO.
- Responsible for Insurance contract negotiations.
- Assists with negotiations of contracts and maintains liaison with third-party payers.
- Monitors operating costs to determine that cost containment procedures are enforced. Fiscally responsible daily.
- Building Management, go-to contact for any issues regarding property. Works in conjunction with property management and facilitates repairs.
- Credentialing: works with an outsourced company to make sure everyone at the facility is properly credentialed.
- Maintains documented personnel policies according to applicable state and federal laws.
- Creates personnel policies.
- Hire and facilitate termination of any non-physician staff in conjunction with immediate supervisor.
- Maintains personnel files according to confidentiality, federal and state requirements.
- Process payroll and supervise employee benefits.
- Mediates and advises on conflict resolution strategies and procedures.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and possibly weekend work.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Direct: Chief Executive Officer/President
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
All operational matters to include subordinates within administration, ancillary and clinical operations, and designated employees on an as needed basis.
