Our company opened in February 2002 in response to a Community Needs Assessment that identified a need for medical service for the underserved members of our community. The Chief Financial Officer is a member of the Senior Leadership team and is responsible for the general financial planning and management of the corporation and, in conjunction with the CEO, is charged with accountability for the corporation’s assets. The CFO is responsible for maintaining sound financial management and accountability to comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, federal, state, and local legal requirements, and contractual obligations. The CFO manages and coordinates the business and administrative activities for the Health Center including accounting, accounts payable, financial reporting, billing, budgeting, purchasing, cash management, risk management, payroll, tax filings, cost reporting, grant filings, and business analytics.

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements financial policies and procedures, and other internal controls to provide for the control and safeguarding of Health Center assets.
- Prepares and presents financial reports to the Finance Committee and the Board of Directors.
- Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory standards, grant/contract obligations, reporting regulations, and all Health Center policies in areas of responsibility.
- Provides financial analysis of operations to identify areas for cost reduction, improved cash flow, and revenue enhancement.
- Evaluate, in conjunction with the CEO, Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors, economic, demographic, and governmental influences on the Health Center’s financial performance, and develop appropriate proactive short- and long-term strategies.
- Manages cash flow, payroll, accounts payable, billing, business analytics, purchasing, and annual budget.
- Develops, in conjunction with the CEO and senior managers, an annual operating budget and capital budget.
- Compares actual cost to budgeted costs and explains variances.
- Serves as financial advisor to CEO, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.
- Review all expenditures to ensure that they are reasonable and within budget.
- Prepares reports for administration and management, regulatory agencies, and third-party payors, including annual third party cost reports and federal reporting.
- Maintains good working relationship with auditors; ensures preparation of necessary materials for annual audits.
- Coach, mentor, and lead staff with open communication and a supportive environment.
- Reviews and provides for current, adequate insurance protection to guard the Health Center from liability and/or loss.
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the health center's mission.

- Performs other duties as required.
