Job Details
Seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a critical role in strategic decision making as part of the executive management team. The candidate will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company, including its budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Oversee all aspects of the finance and accounting functions of the organization, including systems implementation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports appropriate for users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations (payroll, benefits), and other corporate policies.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advise management of actions and potential risks.
- Manage the capital request and budgeting processes.
- Develop credibility for the finance department by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends to assist the CEO/President and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- MBA or MS Degree
- CPA preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, preferably in Non-profit health care setting
- Strong understanding of the not-for-profit sector and/or Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial planning software.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and ability to stay up-to-date with changes.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and creative skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
