CFO – NonProfit
About our Client:
CFS of New York is working with a Nonprofit organization with a mission centered around serving individuals and families experiencing Homelessness in the community. This is a newly created role as they are experiencing tremendous growth within the organization.
What you’ll do as the CFO:
- Lead financial and accounting management,
- compliance/ risk management, reporting of all grants and funding regulations,
- accounts payable, budgeting, balancing of revenues and expenses,
- payroll, banking relations, daily cash management, retirement accounting,
- administrative budget, and agency-wide budget.
- Advise on and provide timely and accurate financial information and performance reporting.
- Consult the CEO & President, board of directors, and stakeholders while providing leadership to guide the organization’s financial activities including annual and long-term planning/forecasting.
- Responsible for leading all financial management and accounting functions
- Working capital management, cash management,
- financial controls, risk management
- Support team members’ learning, development, and career growth.
- Manage and mentor the team to achieve ambitious results and create a high standard of accountability.
What You Bring:
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Certified Public Accountant [CPA] designation is required.
- 15+ years of experience in financial management, including at least ten years of direct management and supervisory experience.
- Experience in human services administration, and office management systems.
- Nonprofit accounting experience is required.
- Prior experience with DHS housing contracts (shelters and supportive housing preferred).
- Must have Budget, Analysis, Forecasting, and Cash Management experience.
- A demonstrated working knowledge of nonprofit treasury items such as receivables, advances, revenue, etc.
- Knowledge of database management systems and accounting application systems.
